.. I had a large bowl, as in not totally ridiculous in size but definitely not cereal bowl size, of Kroger Brand Honey Nut Oh's, I believe they were called, along with their version of Cocoa Krispies, and some Pacific 7 Grain vanilla flavored milk.
When I say "along with" I mean that they were in the same bowl, not that I had two bowls of cereal for breakfast!
Now, I am not mentioning the brand names because I am getting paid to mention them. Oh, if only I was. Then, I'd eat Cheerios, instead! Yet, the Kroger brand tastes nice enough and is far less expensive. See, when I selected them, they were $1.88 per box, on sale, as compared to Cheerios $3.88 per box, also on sale.
I mention the Pacific brand name because it is rude to mention Kroger and not mention Pacific. Besides, one day you might be standing in a big aisle of alternatives to cow milk and see six different brands of whole grain milk staring back at you, and need to know if, indeed, this one that is not the highest price one is going to be just awful. I chose this type and brand of alternative milk, because it was the cheapest one on the shelf and I wanted to know that, myself.
It's not thrilling, but, then, it is not overly sugared to the taste. It does not taste bad and it is just fine with cereal. I did, unfortunately, use it once in a stew, before I realized it had a vanilla flavor and that was a bit of a mistake. Fortunately, it was a very forgiving stew, that involved cinnamon and ginger, which both go nicely with vanilla, and there was a very large quantity of stew compared to milk, so it could have been better, but, all was not lost.
I also had a generous swallow of orange juice. There were two cartons of orange juice boughten, quart size, at the 99 Cent Only store, but, my son came along and drank one of them. He may have also drank some of this one. I am not sure. Whatever the case, it works out to relatively the same price, per gallon, as what the food store down the road is selling, when their juice is on sale and when it is, again, the Kroger brand and not anything too fancy. So, for me, the difference is that I can buy less at a time, and, with two separate packages, it is easier to discern how much has been drunken by one person, the first day.
Normally, you see, I buy the gallon of orange juice and watch it disappear. Sometimes, I get a small glass of it. With two wee cartons, I could even mark them, one with my name and one with his name, and that won't necessarily keep him out of mine, but, it might give him pause; lending an alleviation of feelings of desperation to the whole orange juice owning experience.
Didn't quite finish my acv water last night, but, mostly I did. This is not a confession. It was not a failure. Just a statement of fact, then. Decided to go with the two spoonfuls, again, today.
As my son was leaving, he asked me why I have a giant herpe on my lip. Strangely, it does not hurt, but, I definitely have a very large bump on the edge of my bottom lip.
It really could be a herpe, I suppose, as I used to get cold sores as a child. Or, it could be just a fast growing zit. Either way, it is, in fact, a good sign, because, I am a person who suffers from yeast overgrowth and whenever the die-off reaction starts happening, good and proper, I tend to break out from that reaction, a bit. So, what it shows is that there are bacterium and nastiness releasing poisons and them and their poisons are leaving my body.
That's why I have been using the bathroom a bit more often, and that's why I have this thing on my lip.
Now, don't be frightened. That doesn't mean you will, necessarily, get a thing on your lip, if you start drinking water with apple cider vinegar in it. If you also suffer from yeast overgrowth or some bacterial infection, you might, though, yes. And, what if you do? The world is full of people with herpes and zits, but, not all of them can say theirs are the result of making positive changes in their lives! Persevere, sweetie!
Now, for some good news. Yesterday, my left knee, which had been hurting excessively for the last couple of weeks, made a big popping sound and seems to have shifted into place, as it hurts so much less.
Last night, the neighbors were playing their music, quite loudly, and I felt a bit silly, playful like, and started dancing in front of the mirror. It felt strange.
Not strange in a bad way. It felt strange, like I could move and it wasn't like a series of jerks, as my muscles pulled one way and my tendons said "No!" and stayed where they were, and my joints attempted to turn and then decided against it. It felt smoother, less painful and almost like dancing as I remembered it.
That's when I realized that my shoulders weren't hurting, my feet weren't hurting, my right knee was not hurting at all and even though my left knee still felt a bit different, it really was not hurting either. My hips were not hurting and my back felt less stiff.
This morning, my neck popped a wee bit and so did my chest. Just now, so did my back. These are all very good signs.
Oh, and my fingers don't hurt. Quite odd, as they definitely hurt from arthritis, all the time, and often they are so bad and they get stiff and I have to stretch my fingers out, as my hands are attempting to curl up into that claw look which the hands of persons who suffer from bad arthritis get.
What I do is very simple. I place my hands with palms together, but, facing in opposite directions, and I press the top hand down at the heel, while using the bottom hand to steady it, so that my fingers get stretched. Then, I reverse hands and do it again.
For even more of a stretch, I will use the thumb of one hand to lean each finger of the other hand against, then I will use the thumb to help push the finger backward until it feels stretched and hold it for a bit. It helps to use the rest of the "thumb" hand to sort of hold the other fingers in place, sometimes even pushing down on them a bit, to further isolate the one finger and give a better stretch.
But, if you do any such thing, keep in mind that stretches should be slow and steady, and while they may be uncomfortable and weird feeling, they should not actually be painful.
I could spend quite a lot of time worrying about this arthritis, but, for one thing, my hands have hurt for as long as I can remember. This is just a worsening of how they have always been. For another thing, I prefer to stretch my fingers, try different herbs or spices and ways of eating to see if they help and, otherwise, get on with my life.
The apple cider vinegar seems to be helping. I know, for a fact, that turmeric (tumeric) helps a great deal with the pain of arthritis and Fibromyalgia. However, turmeric from a grocery store costs far too much and is usually low quality. I went to buy some in bulk from this one grocery store, because it looked and smelled to be good quality, only to find out that they would not take food stamps for their bulk spices, which is ridiculous as they did take food stamps for the bottled spices.
I can get turmeric, when I can afford it, from Vitacost.com, and it is good quality, and it is a very decent price for the size of package. However, I usually can't afford it, even though it is less than $20, including shipping and handling If you want to try turmeric, though, and you have somewhere between $10 - $20 to spare, I suggest you go to Vitacost.com and look it up under foods, not supplements. You can get a lb of it, last I checked, for $6.95, plus $4.95 s & h.
Also, if you look on their site, you may find something about becoming an affiliate. I tried it, back when I had enough money to buy supplements, and I would use my affiliate link to purchase my own supplements, so I would get a wee bit of money back from each purchase. Unfortunately, I stopped being able to afford the supplements and no one else ever used the link, so it expired, after a good wee while.
Vitacost.com can be a very good place to get supplements from, because, often, even with the cost of s & h, it is still cheaper to purchase supplements from them than from even the discount vitamin shops. Though, not always, so it is good to look around!
Another place to get turmeric, in capsule form, for a fairly decent price, is Wal-Mart. At least, it was, last time I went there and did so. I got a fairly decent sized bottle for $6.95, I believe it was. Much cheaper than the capsule form on even Vitacost.com, last I checked, and they did help me, so it must have been good enough quality.
If you suffer from Fibromyalgia, arthritis, cancer, or any painful and incurable affliction, I would recommend both, if you can afford it, because turmeric in cooking is good for you and can be part of incredibly tasty dishes. Don't use it on or in anything that is going to stain easily, though, unless you don't mind bright yellow or orange colors being added to it.
In either case, turmeric is very healthy for you. I won't bore you with the details, at least not here and now, but, suffice it to say that it is believed to help prevent cancer and is proven to, at least for some persons, reverse the damage caused by cancer in the case of men suffering from prostate cancer. It is very important medicine, in some countries.
Keep in mind, please, that I am not a health professional of any sort and I am not recommending turmeric to you in any sort of professional or expert capacity. I do not know your health history or what you may or may not need to avoid, considering whatever medicines you are taking or whatever allergies you may have. That is something to discuss with your doctors. I am recommending this to you, in the same way that one might recommend a good restaurant. I went there, I tried it, I enjoyed it. It would be lovely, if you needed it, if you could do the same and have similar results.
With that, I stretch and I hear my back snap, crackle and pop, more than the cereal I just ate!
