These are things I have read in various magazines and such. They are not necessarily my suggestions to you , r am I saying don't do them. Just copying, for my own amusement, really; but, if the information helps you, great! I'll try to get the broad categories, at least, in alphabetical order.
BEANS:
1 cup of beans per day helps decrease your risk of heart disease, infections and respiratory disease. Pinto and baked (navy) beans allegedly make you less gassy than other beans.
FISH
Wild caught oily fish, such as salmon and tuna, is chock full of Omega-3 fatty acids. This helps prevent the pain of arthritis by protecting cartilage and collagen, at least in theory.
OILS
Safflower oil, used in oil puling, can not only remove bacteria from your body but may help you get a good night's sleep. Safflower oil, taken in 2 tbsp doses per day, can help you lose weight, especially on the belly. For maximum effect, take 1 tbsp before lunch and 1 tbsp before dinner. Or, you know, use it in lunch and dinner! It can raise your good cholesterol, lower inflammation, and help level out your blood sugar.
SEEDS
The Omega-3 fatty acids in flaxseed protects cartilage and collagen, thereby helping prevent them from wearing down. This means, in theory, less pain from arthritis.
TEA
Green tea allegedly brings down cholesterol, but, they are talking about4 cups per day or the equivalent in supplement form. I could drink 4 cups of green tea per day, on some days. Every day? No thank you! Green tea allegedly kills flu germs. Green tea may boost metabolism by 4 percent. This tea appears to actually cause fat cells to disintegrate.
