... on the actual plan for my Fat Girl Refrigerator Mambo health gain regimne and how much I even want there to be a plan.
The thing is, I am prone to developing allergies, so, it is best if I alternate foods, instead of having the same grain, nut, or whatever several days in a row. But, that also makes spices and vegetables far more complicated. Especially as I fancy no day that doesn't involve garlic or onion in it, and I would far prefer both to neither.
However, I could, to counteract that problem, simply do the two- day alternating plan. Which is basically, that every other day, I would only use certain ingredients, including spices, for every meal and go out of my way to make sure I didn't use any of them on the other days.
Part of the two-day alternate plan is that every other day would be an intensely low-calorie day, too; so, very little oil, nothing fried ever, mostly nothing but vegetables and unsweetened tea and maybe fish or chicken. Then, on the other days, one can have all the lovely things, like barbecued things and chicken and honey glazed whatever; but, carbs should still be limited to not after 4 pm and everything should be kept in reasonable proportions and vegetables should still be emphasized. Then, of course, you have one day a week when you may, if you so wish, eat and drink mostly whatever you please.
Well, not your family members or neighbours, or that sort of thing. Cannibalism is still strictly frowned upon! So is eating people's pets! However, if you wanted to go to a buffet and eat fried chicken, drink sweet, syrupy sodas, snack on their desserts and generally go a little crazy; or have pizza; or have a barbecue and eat three barbecued hot dogs, wrapped in bacon, with their buns, you could. Doesn't mean you should or that you have to, but, you could!
I think I will go that way. It would make it a lot easier to avoid eating the same foods too often; and, I could make sure the "pig out" day is one of the already higher calorie days.
Understand, most of the higher calorie days would still fall within a modest range, in general. These are not fast food days, or See's Candy days. These are having Tequila Lime Chicken Wings and a couple of jalapeno poppers along with a good amount of veggies, a 1/2 cup of rice and an apple for lunch days.
For instance!
In other words, higher calorie than the day before, but, perfectly reasonable for a person to eat, proportionately and without counting calories. Emphasis still on veggies and good health, and moderation throughout the day.
I keep going over this, because, it is so easy to misunderstand and get sucked into going to far in one direction or the other. It is not the "pig out" time, so, there still needs to be a watching of proportions and it is not okay to eat just anything. Like, one would not choose to eat a chocolate cake, on this day; one should not choose to choose to eat an entire chocolate cake on any day; but, if one did it on the "pig out" day, it would be kind of gross, but, not strictly forbidden.
It's more like, well, a lot of diet plans say "For the first x-amount of weeks, you must never eat...." with a list of foods to follow. Or, "You must now cut out white sugar for the rest of your life." Well, bite me, I say to most diet plans.
What if I want a chocolate chip cookie? Just one? Or, a dinner roll with a pat of butter? Or, a 12-0z soda? Or, a beer with my lunch? Don't many people have these things? Are they not normal and, when not taken to excess, capable of being part of a healthy lifestyle? Yes! That is what they are.
What if I want a slice of bacon with my morning eggs? Or, to make a BLT? Is bread inherently evil? Mayonnaise? Tomato? Lettuce? I shall not ask about bacon, because, then, we get into religious discussions and talk of meat being murder, and I'm not interested! To me, eating bacon is not inherently evil. If it is to you, then, don't eat it!
So, to try again to emphasize the difference between a "pig out" day and an alternate/higher calorie day, let's stack the three kind of days, side by side, for breakfast:
Very low calorie day Higher Calorie day Pig out day
1 serving oatmeal 2 eggs/ 1 slice bacon 24 oz French Vanilla
2 tbsp seed meal 1 small pancake coffee; 1 apple crumb donut
1 serving nut milk Pat of butter Egg McMuffin
1 tsp maple syrup Hash browns
8 oz coffee w/
nut milk, to taste
1 piece of fruit
Again: You do not HAVE to eat like that on the one day you are allowed to. You can choose to, instead, eat mostly exactly the same every day: lots of veggies, a little fruit, some grains, some meat; but, maybe have less meat on the lower calorie days, more meat on the higher calorie days and on the pig out day you might choose to simply have a candy bar, slice of cake, a milkshake or some other special treat. I am only emphasizing the differences of the days, with high contrast. These are not days that are an actual part of the plan!
The point is, you can go that far, on the various days; but, it is wiser not to. One should still act prudently, toward one's health. The permission to pig out is not meant to make you feel that you should be gluttonous, but, to help you through the other days, for you know that when that day rolls around, then what you have been craving can be yours, if you choose to give in. And, it should be a higher calorie day than the rest!
But, the rest are, say 1,000 colories alternated with 1,500 calories, or thereabouts. So, if you were having 2,000 or 2,500 calories, you'd already be much higher. So, you know, don't be gross, just be happy and allow yourself to taste things you enjoy tasting!
